The city is quiet after the rush of the day. Rain has left the cobblestones glistening, reflecting the warm glow spilling from the windows of the old buildings.
A taxi waits patiently along the narrow street. Its driver sits ready, watching the empty road, wondering who will appear next. Perhaps someone heading home after a long evening. Perhaps a couple meeting for dinner. Perhaps a stranger with nowhere to be until tomorrow.
Beyond the rooftops, the familiar church rises through the mist, a reminder that this city has witnessed countless stories unfold in these same streets.
For now, there is nowhere to go.
Just a quiet street, a waiting taxi, and the promise that someone’s story is about to begin.
